The Best Coffee Shops in Lowry, Cherry Creek, & Hilltop

Denver is lucky to be graced by countless coffee shops and bakeries. Some appeal to the college crowd, others to business people. But our favorites are the coffee shops with high-quality brews, tasty bites, and a comforting atmosphere. If you live around Lowry and Cherry Creek, stop into one (or a few) of these lovely, local shops.

Aviano

Aviano Coffee is one of the best coffee shops in Denver, with both of its locations in Cherry Creek. Their spaces are bright and welcoming, with expansive patios that allow you to catch up with friends and family.

You can, of course, get standard coffee and lattes, but we think it’s best to let their baristas showcase their knowledge of coffee and espresso with Chemexs and cortados. French pastries and other snacks are also available, all from local purveyors.

Copper Door Coffee

Copper Door is a local establishment in Lowry’s Hangar 2. A more traditional, relaxed coffee shop, Copper Door roasts its own beans and sells them at Whole Foods. At the Lowry location, you can grab delicious-looking pastries like poptarts, scones, croissants, and egg souffles.

If you’re feeling health-oriented, grab a match latte. Otherwise, their lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas are all exquisite, too.

Steep

Located on 8th, Steep Coffee & Tea is the perfect place to stop before or after a Trader Joe’s run.

They offer standard coffees and teas, but most notable are their specialty drinks like Earl Grey Vanilla Cream, Mate Latte, and Toasted Coconut Oolong Latte. You can also pick up loose leaf tea here.

For breakfast and lunch, choose between Marie Empanadas, baked goods from Sugar Bake Shop, or super-affordable acai bowls. Get your health kick with a shot of matcha—they come in “wellness,” “immunity,” and “cleanse” varieties.

Under The Umbrella

Under the Umbrella is a little north of Lowry and Cherry Creek, but it’s an easy spot to stop into before heading downtown. Beyond good coffee and teas, UTU has a full lunch menu featuring soups, salads, and house-made baked goods. We can’t recommend the everything bagel breakfast sandwich enough. Under the Umbrella also makes picnic baskets for Crestmoor Park days.

Spend some time getting to know Lowry and Cherry Creek’s wonderful coffee shops. You might find your new favorite Sunday spot.
